Come and join us for an exciting weekend of fishing at the world-famous Port Mansfield, Texas. Three fabulous volunteer captains will be donating their boats and time to try and get you on the fish. We will be fishing the Laguna Madre for the highly sought-after redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead, and black drum. Anglers will be using a combination of artificial, live and dead baits. We will be fishing under the dock lights at night with light tackle. Be prepared for possible wading, dock, and boat fishing. All fishing activities will be on a weather-permitting basis. Past catches have included limits of speckled trout and redfish!

Please bring the appropriate clothing, personal fishing devices, and fishing tackle. TYHP will provide terminal tackle but will NOT provide fishing rods and reels. Accompanying adult anglers must have a valid Texas saltwater fishing license. Also, keep in mind the weather that could turn in no time. This will be a weather-permitting expedition.

This event requires an additional fee of $35 for bait which will be paid in advance. No guests allowed at this event; youth and 1 adult only.

South Texas meals will/could include fried fish, Mexican food, pan de campo, tacos, and any/everything else in between! Water and tea will be provided. Bring any additional drinks/snacks for community or private use.

Don't forget to bring your fillet knives for hands-on learning on how to catch, clean and cook- evening of fun! Ice chests with ice should be brought to keep your catches in. There are a few small stores in Port Mansfield to buy ice if needed.

The Port Mansfield Chamber of Commerce building will provide a climate-controlled area for air mattress or cot sleeping. On site bathrooms and a portable shower will be provided. Please bring toiletries.
