This TYHP Expedition has two purposes. One is to teach hunter education (HE) and the other is to teach a small group how to wade and kayak fish at Goose Island State Park. Our target audience is primarily those who have not completed Hunter Education, but open to all. Saturday April 5 will start with a Hunter education online plus field course in the historic recreation hall built by the Civilian Conservation Corps or CCC in ~ 1934. After HE we will have lunch and host a small group and teach rigging cut and live bait set ups for wade and kayak fishing. Gear will be provided, but you may bring your own too. After some safety training regarding Kayaking we will hit the water until dusk. You will have the option to spend the night or call it a day. The park has carved out some spaces for those who wish to spend the night and fish Sunday. Below is the hunter education link. It is private for now, but will go public March 17 2025.

Goose Island will set aside space for TYHP at the park. There are bathrooms with showers at the park.
